The Big City. History around every corner and so many recognisable icons.
For many years Robin would travel to Waterloo station and walk to the bridge to paint Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast.
It was early when the commuters would rush past avoiding him by inches, a few would grab a card. He was greeted with a message each evening with a request to buy the painting. The Pret coffee shop staff got used to Robin exchanging a small parcel for money. It must have looked dodgy!
St. Paul's was his other haunt in the area, he loves that building. He painted outside the Cheshire Cheese pub. They were very accommodating, offering sandwiches and drinks (soft) on a regular basis. Only downside was the squealing brakes of the London buses!
Travelling around with a heavy easel and paints on his back was no easy task.
He enjoys painting the scenes recalling many happy memories.
